Amateur artist

I always believed that i can do everything and for the same reason i think i never reached any heights in anything i did.I saw myself as the jack of all trade and king of none.In most cases i have been only better than the worse and in some ranked amidst the averages and in none have i been a person to reckon with, largely due to my indolence.Drawing is one such creativity i touched upon my childhood and though did not go places came close enough to get a first prize in one of the competitions held in the school.I ended up getting the second prize and the number of participants were definitely not two if you are under estimating by any chance ;)
I am wondering lately whether i did justice to all my so called "talents" and now i am in the process of reanimating my lost appetite for all those activities i indulged in my puerility.
I was too tempted to take the pencil to sketch again when i saw my buddy preparing to sketch a subject aesthetically. He was encouraging and prompted me to derive inspiration from his own passport size picture. So i indulged once again with the 3P'S - The pencil, paper and the pad. With his photo on the side i started sketching ardently as i was too excited to draw again. The pencil stroked his hair, his nose, his other facial features and i like a pro swapped the pencils between HB,2B,4B and even 6B nonchalantly as if i have been doing it for ages.I erased, readjusted, redrew and did whatever i could to make my creation resemble the original picture and the best i could do was to make it resemble his could be cousin :)
We had an hearty laugh after seeing the finished sketch my buddy claiming to have seen the person in the picture somewhere :)
But then it announced the rebirth of a not so great amateur artist :)
